Polyacrylamide (PAM) is polymerized by acrylamide monomer, it is a water-soluble linear polymer substance. The chemical properties of Monomer acrylamide are very active, in the double bond and amide group can carry out a series of chemical reactions, we can products with different charge by using different processes and different functional groups: anion, cationic, non-ionic, zwitterionic polyacrylamide. The average molecular weight of PAM ranges is from thousands to millions, and it has several functional groups along the bond molecule. Most of PAM can be ionized in water. It belongs to the polymer electrolyte. According to the properties of its dissociable groups, it can be divided into anionic, cationic and non-ionic types. Different types of PAM have different uses. Anion Polyacrylamide:

Anionic polyacrylamide (APAM) appears as white granules with molecular weights ranging from 6 million to 25 million. Cationic Polyacrylamide

Cationic polyacrylamide are positive in acidic or alkaline medium , it’s molecular weight is usually lower than anion or non-ionic polyacrylamide, the purification of sewage performance is mainly obtained through charge neutralization. The main function of this kind of flocculant is to flocculate the negative charge, and has the function of turbidity removal and decolorization. In the wine factory, MSG factory, sugar factory, meat products factory, beverage factory, printing and dyeing factory and other waste water treatment,the using result of cationic polyacrylamide is several times or dozens of times higher than with anionic polyacrylamide, non-ionic polyacrylamide or inorganic salt effect, because this kind of waste water is generally with negative charge.

Cationic polyacrylamide is suitable for high-speed centrifuge, belt filter press, plate and frame filter press and other special sludge dewatering machinery, with the formation of flocculation fast, thick flocculation, extrusion and shearing resistance, good agglomeration, easy to peel with the filter cloth and other characteristics. Non-ionic polyacrylamide

Amphoteric polyacrylamide

Zwitterionic polyacrylamide is made of vinyl amide and acrylamide monomer after hydrolysis copolymerization. Zwitterionic irregular polymers with both positive and negative charges in the molecular chain.
